Chicken-Permit-Application-La-Crescent Ordinance #568 – Limited Keeping of Chickens
- Dogs and cats in the city of La Crescent must be on a leash and licensed
- Pets are to be licensed at City Hall before January 15th each year (current rabies papers required) See license application below
- Primary Application: 2024 Pet License Application
- In addition to the Primary application above, please review the following Ordinance 90.06. Multiple Pet License and fill out the following application if you have 3 or more of one species: Multiple Pet Permit Application
- Mail your application(s) along with payment and proof of rabies vaccine to: City of La Crescent, 315 Main St., P.O. box 142, La Crescent, MN 55947 or place in the drop box on the wall outside the front door of City Hall. License tags will be mailed back to you.

Rapidly calling 911, doing compression only CPR, and using an AED can save thousands of
lives. Unfortunately, AED’s can be hard to find when they are needed: locked up in
buildings or distant from where people are gathering. The La Crescent Heart Safe
Community team and the Police Department are here to change that.
You can now check out an AED for FREE from the La Crescent Police Department for use at
your picnic, family gathering, mission trip, graduation party, river excursion, or wherever you
might want the security of having an AED ready and able to be used. The process is simple
and easy with just a few simple steps to follow. Check out this link for more information or

Prescription Drug Drop-off Box
LCPD provides a prescription drug drop off box in City Hall. Please do your part in keeping La Crescent safe by bringing in unused medicines for environmentally friendly disposal. Prescription drugs are the number one substance of abuse for teens, and much of that supply is unwittingly coming from the medicine cabinets of their parents, grandparents, and friends. The box may be accessed during regular business hours. Meds can remain in their original containers. No need to remove or mark-out the labels. This is a confidential disposal unit. *No liquids or needles accepted.
